The mountain bike category can be grouped in several ways. There are rigid-tail and fully telescopic MTBs. We also distinguish areas of use: we divide the mountain bike segment into cross country/marathon (XCC, XCO, XCM, XCE), trail, all mountain, enduro and downhill categories.

WHICH CROSS COUNTRY/MARATHON MOUNTAIN BIKE SHOULD YOU CHOOSE?

The first very important aspect is whether you want to buy models with a rigid tail or fully. The hardtail models are slightly lighter and the prices are somewhat more affordable. A fully, on the other hand, can be a more versatile playmate that is suitable for several areas of use - not to mention that even these cross country MTB bikes in the premium category are incredibly light.

The second important aspect is what frame material is the particular cross country MTB bike made of? Obviously, carbon and aluminum can also be used here, but we definitely recommend carbon in this category due to the much more favorable properties of the material group. In this category, we actually only recommend hardtails with an aluminum frame.
